EPMH Foundation

Dear Members and Visitors:

2016 has been a great year for the El Paso Museum of History and it’s Foundation and 2017 looks to bring even more positive developments, both within the Foundation’s fundraising efforts and for the Museum overall. The most existing news of 2016 was the announcement of The Hunt Family Foundation Challenge Grant. The Challenge Grant provides a specific goal of $1,000,000.00 for the Museum of History Foundation to raise in the next five years with The Hunt Family Foundation matching up to $500,000.00 on a 2 for 1 basis. We have a lot of work ahead of us to close out this year successfully and bring momentum into our fundraising efforts in 2017 and beyond. With a total of $1,500,000.00 in our endowment by the end of 2020 the Museum of History Foundation will be able to make a dramatic impact on the museum that we support and the community we serve for decades to come.

In the last two months the Foundation has also been working on a reorganization plan and is now a supporting organization under the umbrella of the El Paso Community Foundation. Our mission will not change and our focus will continue to be dedicated to supporting the El Paso Museum of History but the operational assistance and guidance provided by the Community Foundation will allow us to spend much more of our time on our primary objective, namely building an endowment that will fund programming at the El Paso Museum of History. This transition will be completed before the end of the year.

As you plan for your end-of-year charitable giving please consider the Museum of History Foundation. There are numerous naming opportunities throughout the Museum but a donation at any level goes exclusively to programming and exhibits held throughout the year. If you would like to discuss specific donations opportunities please feel free to call me at (915)313-8801 or Jim Murphy, the Museum’s Development Coordinator, at (915) 212-3161.
On behalf of the Foundation Board and staff of the El Paso Museum of History, thank you to everyone who has supported the Museum so far this year. Your contributions make a huge impact on the operation of the museum and our community. I would also like to specifically thank the Hunt family and their Foundation for the generous Challenge Grant. It is the first of its kind for the Museum of History and we look forward to taking full advance of your support.

Best wishes,

Christian Perez Giese
Foundation Board Chairman
