"Between Two Worlds" Learning about the lives of Mormon settlers in Colonia Juarez, MX and El Paso, TX
In partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities and El Paso Museum of History and the El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department, El Paso Community College (EPCC) will be hosting an engaging public programs about the lives of Mormon settlers in Colonia Juarez, MX and El Paso, TX. The program will feature a brief history of the Mormon Colonies in Mexico and how the folklore concept of liminality has played a role in the settlers’ lives and relationships with Mexico and the United States. Attendees will also hear directly from people whose lives are connected to the Colonies and will receive items and guidelines to help them in collecting their own heritage.
The program will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the El Paso Museum of History, 510 N. Santa Fe St.
