Focus on perspectives: Daniel Chacon– The Crazy Artist: How to create Wormholes and Hidden Dimensions

Daniel Chacón is author of five books: and the shadows took him, Chicano Chicanery, Unending Rooms, Hotel Juárez, and his new novel, The Cholo Tree. Professor Chacón has received the Southwest Book Award, the American Book Award, and the Hudson Prize. He hosts “Words on a Wire,” a literary radio program on KTEP and is a professor of Fiction at UTEP. He will serve as chair of the Creative Writing Department beginning this Fall.

For this session of Focus on Perspectives Professor Chacón will discuss the creative process, specifically the art of fiction and poetry, and how our creative practice mirrors concepts in mysticism and physics, and how we can use the metaphors therein to understand and strengthen our imagination and our work.
